In researching the various shredders available under the same line, we found the Powershred 225i. This shredder fits well in our office space, and has a nice professional look. It is so quiet when it is in use, not like other brands. We formerly had another shredder from Fellowes that lasted 10 years. We are very happy with this product.

I work for a company who does tons of shredding DAILY. This product has worked great to meet our needs. We shred probably anywhere from 1,000-2,000 sheets of paper on a daily basis. It is EXTREMELY quiet compared to the other shredder we had previously which died on us! It is also easy to use, and has a PULL OUT TRASH ben!! (which is a plus for me)
The only Con I could say for this shredder is that the shred cuts are a lot larger than I would like them to be. We wanted the cross cut feature we thought we were purchasing with this machine... but overall great product. We love the quiet shredder.

Purchased for University faculty & staff in office with various users day & night. Posted instructions above shredder including oiling cutters. LIST OF ITEMS NOT TO SHRED taped on shredder at feeding area on top...such as.. NO adhesive labels, transparencies, newspaper, file folders. Even highly educated users now have no jams or excuses! Wish new shredder came with at least a small bottle of oil!

225i Choosing The Right Shredder
Cut Type
With Identity Theft concerns at an all-time high, the need to protect personal information is more important than ever. And these days, it’s no longer just what you shred that matters—it’s how small you shred it. Shredders with a smaller cut size will help keep your information secure long after you dispose of the particles. The smaller the cut size, the higher the security level.
Productivity
Shredder productivity goes beyond mere sheet capacity or speed. When shopping for a shredder, consider the machine’s throughput, or the efficiency with which it can get the job done. Throughput combines the three most critical features that contribute to a shredder’s performance:
Sheet Capacity x Speed (feet per minute) x Duty Cycle = Throughput
For example, a shredder that can handle 15 sheets may seem more productive than one with a 14 sheet capacity. After all, it can shred more sheets at a time! But as the example below illustrates, Shredder B is actually two times more productive than Shredder A, due to a faster shred speed and a longer duty cycle. This means you can get more done at one time, so you can quickly move on with your day.
